42 members of Girlguiding Jersey were among the 20,000 Guides who attended Fusion at Harewood House near Leeds. This was a spectacular event, to watch and join in with 1,000 acts from all over Europe. The site on Harewood House was divided into 33 performance and activity areas, including a Big Top and a Dome Stage. Other attractions included the Fusion beach and the Geopods, an interactive attraction. Not forgetting the Fusion Feast - joining people together in a giant picnic.
The National Scout and Guide Orchestra performed the Centenary Fantasia, composed by Rodney Newton, to celebrate 100 years of guiding.
Fusion day also marked the launch of Girlguiding UK's campaign to have airbrushing compulsory labelled. Everyone at Fusion and Centenary Camp had the chance to sign the petition, which was then sent to the prime minister, David Cameron.
