Girlguiding Jersey is one of the 16 Counties and
Islands of Girlguiding South West England
The first week of August saw sixteen guides and three leaders join with five thousand guides from all around the world to attend a weeklong Girlguiding UK Centenary camp at Harewood House near Leeds.

The camp was officially opened  by the Chief Guide Liz Burnley on the 1st August during an opening ceremony which all of the camp attendees participated.

Various activities were available for the girls to take part in during the week and these ranged from wall climbing and tackling an assault course to go karting, various craft activities and sledging down a snow slope in a rubber inflatible.

On the 4th August  the Jersey party met up with twenty-six guides and leaders  who had flown over especially from Jersey to attend the Fusion event being held that day at Harewood House.

The camp closing ceremony took place on the evening of the 6th August and following closing remarks by Chief Guide Liz Burnley Taps were sung and the flags were lowered. There then followed a fantastic light show to music to end the ceremony.
