How can my daughter move up to the next section?

Ask your daughter’s Leader for information about local units for the next section, and if she can arrange for your daughter to visit one of their meetings. Perhaps she could go with some other girls from her unit. You may want to go along as well.

Remember that many units have waiting lists and she will not automatically be guaranteed a place so it’s important to put her name down early.

How can I help?

We always welcome parent helpers, whether it’s an hour or two every few months or a regular weekly commitment, there are lots of ways to volunteer with us. Please contact us for more information.

Where can I buy uniform from?

Our local shop is open during term times on a Wednesday from 2.30 till 6.00pm at our Guide Headquarters on the coast road at Greve D’azette, St Clement. They sell a full range of uniform, along with guiding gifts and accessories.

Girls can choose items from a range of practical, stylish and reasonably priced guiding wear. Many units hold second hand uniform.

How much will it cost?

Guiding is a great value-for-money way of providing a range of exciting and challenging activities.

Guiding units charge ‘subs’ to cover the cost of equipment and hire of the meeting place. There is also an annual subscription which covers the day-to-day running of the organisation. This is sometimes included in the subs. Subs vary from area to area – your local unit Leader will be able to tell you how much the subs are and when they need to be paid.

There is usually an extra charge for special activities, days out, residential events and holidays.
