Girlguiding Jersey have a range of local awards for our members.
Nominations are to be sent to the Island Commissioner or Hilary Hardy directly.

Dorrel Wherry Award
For Rainbows and Brownies
The Dorrel Wherry Award is open to any uniformed Rainbow or Brownie.

· Nominations should be submitted to the awards committee on the Girlguiding Jersey Awards Nomination Form, which requires 2 signatures of support

Applications must be made without the knowledge of the nominee

The awards committee will consider the application and their decision will be final
Criteria
In order to be considered for this award, the nominee must have demonstrated the following:-
-
A noteworthy commitment to her unit, and supporting her friends and leaders
-
A special quality that the nominee brings to Guiding, and in particular showing kindness and caring, that makes her stand out from the crowd
The Knott Award
For Guides, Rangers and Young Leaders
The Knott Award is open to any uniformed member aged between 10 and 17 years.

Nominations should be submitted to the awards committee on the Girlguiding Jersey Awards Nomination Form, which requires 2 signatures of support.

Applications must be made without the knowledge of the nominee.

The awards committee will consider the application and their decision will be final.
Criteria
In order to be considered for this award, the nominee must have demonstrated the following:-

A noteworthy commitment to her unit, and supporting her friends and leaders
-
A special quality that the nominee brings to Guiding, and her local community (such as Section events, fund raising, school activities, wider hobbies) that makes her stand out from the crowd


The Samares Award
For Adult Volunteers
The Samares Award is open to any uniformed member aged 18 and above and the nomination must be supported by either the Section or Island Commissioner.

Nominations should be submitted to the awards committee on the Girlguiding Jersey Awards Nomination Form, which requires 2 signatures of support

Applications must be made without the knowledge of the nominee.

The awards committee will consider the application and their decision will be final.
Criteria
In order to be considered for this award, the nominee must have demonstrated the following:-

A noteworthy commitment to their unit and/or to Girlguiding Jersey

A special quality that the nominee brings to Guiding and her local community in line with the Girlguiding UK promise and law.
The Island Commissioner's Award
For members over 18.
​The Island Commissioner’s Award is open to any uniformed member aged 18 and above.
​
The award is presented at the discretion of the Island Commissioner in line with the criteria.
There is no nomination form, however the Island Commissioner will ensure that the details of the award are entered on GO!
If the Island Commissioner wishes, a nominee may be discussed with the awards committee.

Criteria

The nominee will have shown an outstanding commitment to Girlguiding Jersey whilst the Island Commissioner has been in post.

The nominee will have supported the Island Commissioner and worked closely with her.
-
​
The award can be presented at a time and place as determined by the Island Commissioner.
​
The award will be a ‘Jersey Standard’ badge.
